Kyndby (DKKBY)

The port serves a power station. The power station no longer receives coal and only handles 400t to 500t of oil annually.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Kyndby is situated on the island of Sjaelland, on the Isefjord, approx 16km from the entrance.

LOA 250m, beam 40m, draught 6.0m, 40,000DWT.

Approx 11 vessels visit the port annually.

The harbour is approached across Yderbredning by a route which leads close W of the buoys marking the prohibited area off Jaegerspris Bugt. A pair of leading lights situated on the W side of the harbour leads through this channel. The Front Light is exhibited from a grey framework tower on the shore, in line bearing 165°, they lead across Yderbredning from the channel at Lynaes Sand, to Kyndby passing E of Kyndby Rev.

Small tug available. There are 2 tugs in Copenhagen for vessels over 6,500t.

Prevailing winds: W'ly.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station works throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

There is no demand for an ETA by Port Authorities. ETA messages should be passed to the ship's agent who will relay it to relevant parties (port, stevedores, work gangs, etc). Pilot requires ETA at boarding point 24, 12 and 4 hours prior to arrival.

Vessels entering the harbour have right of way over vessels leaving.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.

NOR should be tendered in accordance with Charter Party terms.
