Aeroskobing (DKARK)

The harbour consists of a single basin which fronts the town. The port handles dry bulk, cruise and passengers.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Aeroskobing is located on the island of Aero, approx 35nm N of Kiel.

There is an anchorage available near Aeroskobing off the harbour in depths of 7-10m, with excellent holding ground. However, no vessel may lie at anchor within the area N of the harbour bounded by a line from the SE point on Aeroskobing Havn E mole to the S point of Dejro and a line from the W point of Dejro to the SE extremity of Odden then to the E end of the fender works N of the ferry berth at the N mole of the harbour.

Approach to harbour is by Mollegab, passing W of Dejro, from where two separate dredged channels lead to the harbour, or passing E of Dejro. Depths in the W channel S of Mollegab 3.8m, in the E channel 4.5m and 3.6m in channel E of Dejro. Directions for entering harbour: The alignment 196.25° of Aeroskobing Havn Leading Lights leads SSW from the vicinity of the buoy (safe water), moored approx 1nm from the harbour entrance, passing ESE of Aeroskobing Light Beacon (starboard hand, 2m in height) (54°54.2'N 010°25.1'E) at the N end of Mollegab, then through the channel, marked by buoys (lateral), to the harbour entrance. Alternatively, from a position approx 0.4nm from the front light, the track of the deeper channel, 25m in width, leads SSE and SSW to the harbour entrance. Caution: Larger vessels using Mallegab approach require to deviate from the above alignment to keep in the deepest water as the channel passes between Dejro and Odden.

Aeroskobing Havn Leading Lights are exhibited at elevations of 7m and 13m. The front light from a green metal mast with white top and red triangle daymark point up, situated on the head of the W mole and the rear light from a white metal mast with a red triangle daymark point down, approx 0.07nm SSW of the front light structure. In line, bearing 196.25°, these lights lead through the W dredged channel, with a depth of 3.8m to the harbour entrance. A light is exhibited, at an elevation of 4m from a red post on the head of the E mole.

Speed is limited to a maximum of 3kts in the harbour and 3kts in Vestre Badehavn.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station works throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16 and 12.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew.

There is no demand for an ETA by port authorities. ETA messages should be passed to the ship's agent who will relay it to relevant parties (port, stevedores, work gangs, etc). Pilot requires ETA at boarding point 24, 12 and 4 hours prior to arrival.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.
