📋 Port Overview

✓ ISPS✓ ECAFree Trade Zone
Shanghai is the principal industrial, financial and commercial centre for the country. In recent years, the City has undergone a period of major regeneration, with some of its older riverside wharves being redeveloped. Several new terminals, catering for much larger vessels in deeper water, have been built away from the City centre; part of Shanghai's long term plans to cope with China (mainland) rapid economic growth. The port includes five major working zones: The Yangtze River Estuary, the Huangpu River mouth at Wusongkou, Waigqoqiao and the Pudong coastline. The fifth zone of Yangshan Deepwater Port is reached by a road bridge over 30km long and is a newly created port area on reclaimed land to the S of the mainland. Changxing Island and Hengsha Island, new areas of port construction, lie between the Beigang and Nangang Channels, at the entrance of the Yangtze River.
