Penco (CLPEO)

The port of Penco is privately owned terminal and pier (1,670m long) belonging to Muelles de Penco who specialise in loading, unloading, storage, packaging and mixing fertilisers and other bulk products.

Penco is situated in the SE corner of Concepcion Bay, close S of Lirquen.

Draught 10.7m, LOA 220m, 50,000DWT.

Large vessels should anchor 0.6km ESE and small vessels should anchor 0.8km SE of the pier head.

Pilotage is compulsory for foreign vessels on all occasions and for Chilean vessels berthing at the wharves or entering the docks. The pilot is available from Talcahuano and the boarding position is approx 0.6nm SE of Banco Belen Light.
