π Port Overview
β ISPSβ ECA
Baie Verte Port, is accessible from June to January. The harbour typically freezes over completely from mid-December to early January, with ice breaking up around May. However, in some years, ice breakup has been observed as early as mid-April, allowing the port to remain ice-free until early June. This seasonal variation affects port accessibility and navigation, making it crucial for vessels to plan operations accordingly. The port handles cargo related to mineral exports, including gold and other mined resources from operations.
