The container port consists of two berths with an alongside depth of 16.0m. The port currently allows for berthing of two LOA 300m vessels simultaneously.

Pilotage is compulsory and supplied by Sao Francisco Pilot Station. Inbound vessels should request for pilots 4 hours in advance. Departing vessels should request for pilots 2 hours in advance. Pilot boards in position 26°12.00'S 048°28.10'W.
