Gimboa (AOGIM)

The FPSO 'Gimboa' is a converted tanker, moored in approx 450m of water. The FPSO has a capacity of 1,800,000bbls for crude oil, which is exported via a nearby SBM. Gas production is piped ashore.

Located in the Angolan Gimboa field (Block 4/05), approx 85km off the Angolan coast.

Pilotage by mooring master is compulsory and is available 24 hours. Mooring master boards approx 2nm from FPSO.

Vessels should send ETA as follows: ..... 1. By email to the FPSO 7 days before ETA, or upon clearing last port if less than 7 days, then 72, 48 and 24 hours prior to arrival. 2. Angolan Maritime Authorities should also be advised via agent 72 hour prior to arrival. 3. Any changes should be advised. 4. Gimboa Control should be contacted 3 hours prior to arrival, providing latest information regarding position and ETA. 5. Vessels should establish contact on VHF Ch 12, when 10nm from the FPSO. 6. Mooring normally takes place during daylight hours 7. During operations continuous watch on VHF CH 16 and 12 should be observed. 8. A safety zone of 500m has been established around the FPSO and vessels should not enter the zone without permission of the OIM. 9. A designated waiting area has been established 6nm NE of the FPSO, radius 2.5nm, centred on position 7°28.47'S 012°14.40'E. 10. Gimboa Control should be informed when clearing the FPSO and also on departure from the 10nm zone.
