Dalia (AODAL)

The Deep Offshore Block 17 field is made up of 4 zones, Girassol, Dalia, Pazflor and CLOV. The 300m FPSO handles fairly heavy, semi-sweet, acidic crude and methanol. The loading of crude is via nearby SPM using 2 x 16in hoses or in tandem with FPSO Dalia for loading methanol (1 x 6in hose) or as a back up crude loading system. It can treat 240,000bbls of oil daily and has storage capacity for 2,000,000bbls.

Tropical.

Dalia Terminal lies in Block 17, just to the E of the Girassol field, 210km NW of Luanda, off the coast of Angola.

LOA 339.4m, beam 60m, 320,785DWT.

There is a waiting area of radius 2nm, 6nm N of the FPSO, centred on 07°35.0'S 011°46.0'E, in water 1,100m depth. Vessels should approach the waiting zone from the N.

The Dalia FPSO is moored in position 7° 41' 00.631' S 11° 45' 55.489' E. The SPM loading buoy is at 7° 40' 51.431' S 11° 47' 00.646' E.

The Buoy mooring consists of 1 x 16in nylon hawser 90m in length, 500t NWBS, together with 1 x 76mm dia chafe chain, 9m in length. For mooring to the FPSP in tandem, bow to bow, consists of 1 x 21in nylon superline hawser, 100m in length 570t MBL together with 1 x 76mm dia chafe chain, 10m in length for tankers and 1 x 54mm dia chafe chain 231t MBL for methanol carriers.

Compulsory. Pilots board the export vessel 3nm N of Dalia FPSO. For the buoy loading point the terminal provides 1 pilot and 1 Berthing Master, for the tandem loading point the terminal provides 2 pilots and 1 Berthing Master.

Dalia FPSO is fitted with X and S Band radar transponders, AIS and light/sound signals. The flare at 104m above the main deck is a prominent feature.

Berthing takes place between 0600-1500hrs only. The terminal is included within a restricted area of radius 10nm, centred on the Girassol Terminal FPSO (07°38.9'S 011°40.8'E). Vessels are prohibited from entering the restricted area without the permission of the terminal operator. Further mooring exclusion and safety zones of radius 500m are established around the SPM and FPSO.

Tug and mooring boats available to assist berthing and during loading operations to maintain offtake tanker in good position in relation to the FPSO or SBM.
