Vlore (ALVOA)

The port has two main quays handling mainly building materials and passengers. There is also a tanker Sea Island berth, 1.5nm SSW, for the refinery.

The port of Vlore (also known as Vlone or Vlora) is situated in southern Albania in a large sheltered bay.

There are three anchorage positions available: ..... 1. 40°26.6'N 019°28.6'E 2. 40°26.6'N 019°29.2'E 3. 40°25.0'N 019°29.9'E Anchorage in summer, for a short visit, is generally found off the coast between Skela e Vlores and Kepi 1 Pelasja in depth of 18-24m, mainly mud and weed. The nature of the bottom should be determined when anchoring. NW winds cause a heavy seas at this anchorage and the Bora is severely felt.

Compulsory to the tanker loading station. Pilots can be contacted on VHF Ch 10. The bay can be entered without the aid of a pilot after contacting Harbour Port Control. Vessels requiring pilotage should send ETA 48 hours in advance to the agent. Pilot boards in anchorage 40°26.5'N 019°29.0'E.

All vessels must contact the Harbour Master before entry.

Customs and Immigration Officers will board during free pratique inspection.

For vessels coming from neighbouring countries ETA should be sent to agent 48 hours in advance, any other countries ETA should be sent 5 days prior to arrival.
