Ordu (TRORD)

Ordu is a small port handling mostly domestic cargo traffic which bulk cargoes including meat products, seafood, milk, dairy products, fresh fruit & vegetables, dry food, local foods, alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks.

Summer.

Ordu is located on the Black Sea coast midway between Samsun and Trabzon.

Approx 94 vessels and 232,974t of cargo handled annually.

Anchorage may be obtained off Kisla and Persembe, approx 2-3.5nm, respectively, S of Cam Burnu. Of these anchorages, Kisla is considered the best, there being depths of 18.0m, sand and mud, with good holding ground 0.25nm offshore. An anchorage for vessels carrying explosives is situated 2.5nm ESE of Bozukkale in depths of 8.0-36m.

Compulsory for vessels over 150GT and provided 24 hours by the Port Administration. Vessels should contact pilot, on Ch 16, 1 hour prior to arrival.

The harbour limits comprise all waters included by a line drawn 5.5nm N from Yasun Burnu, then ESE for 21nm and finally S to the coast, 1.5nm W of Buyukeyrice Burnu.

Range 0.35m.

Not compulsory for vessels under 500GT but 1 tugs is compulsory for vessels 500GT up to 4,000t and 2 tugs for vessels above 4,000GT. Four tugs up to 2,500hp are available.
