π Port Overview
β ISPSβ ECAEcoPort
Map Ta Phut Port, located on Thailand's eastern seaboard, serves as a vital gateway within an artificial harbour tailored to support the region's extensive petrochemical complex. The strategically positioned port handles the import and export of petrochemicals, bulk cargo such as coal, and LNG operations. With an eye toward the future, Map Ta Phut Port is set for significant expansion, highlighted by the newly constructed PTT LNG Terminal (LMPT 2), which reflects the anticipated growth in industrial demands. As of 2024, the port is undergoing further development with the third phase of its expansion project, expected to commence commercial operations in 2027.

In cases where VHF contact is not made, the vessel should proceed to the designated anchorage. Vessels should not approach closer to the SPM than 2nm without a Mooring Master onboard. On arrival the vessel will be given berthing or anchoring instructions on VHF Ch 19 or 67 by the marine terminal. Vessels at anchor should maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch 16, 19 and 67. Vessels will be called by the operator with berthing information and other instructions. The Terminal is owned jointly by Start Petroleum Refining Co. Ltd. (SPRC) and Rayong Refinery Company Limited (RRC) and operated by SPRC. Vessels to the MIT Terminal are required to deliver the following information to the Terminal: ..... 1. Vessel's Name and IMO 2. ETA to the MIT Terminal 3. Vessel's Particulars 4. Cargo manifest, B/L, Stowage plan 5. Crew List
General notices & regulations
..... 1. A ship owner intending to bring a vessel into the Port Zone must inform the Director at least 24 hours in advance and utilise the tug and service boats arranged by the port. 2. A ship owner intending to take a vessel out of the Port Zone must inform the Director at least 6 hours in advance. 3. A ship owner intending to relocate to another berth must inform the Director at least 6 hours in advance. 4. Once a vessel docks, the vessel's Master or owner shall advise the Director within 12 hours and shall present full ship particulars. 5. A ship owner intending to unload cargo at the port shall inform the Director at least 24 hours in advance and present the Cargo Manifest to the Director. 6. Any person intending to bring cargoes into the port for loading onto a vessel shall inform the Director at least 24 hours in advance and present the Cargo Manifest to the Director. 7. Any person intending to bring passengers through the port must inform the Director at least 24 hours in advance and present a passenger List to the Director. Personnel transfers & use of tugs: According to advice from Alliance Refining Company Ltd. (ARC) regarding vessels mooring at the SPM, the restrictions are as follows: ..... 1. Agent and surveyor will continue to board upon the vessel's arrival and can leave along with cargo samples when formalities are completed (weather permitting). The final decision will be made by the Mooring Master in charge at the time. 2. Crew changes are to be undertaken before the vessel berths or after its departure from the berth. The agent should inform the ARC Marine team in advance of the names and number of crew change. (This must be done at a distance not less than 1nm from the SPM). 3 Supply of provision or stores will be permitted after the vessel departs the berth at a distance not less than 1nm from the SPM. However, if a spare part is needed by the vessel during its discharging operation at the SPM, the agent can discuss with the ARC Marine team. Permission will be granted on a case-by-case basis. 4. The agent must advise ARC if any vessel inspection is to be performed while the vessel is at Map Ta Phut SPM. The name and company of the inspector should be sent to the ARC Marine team. An inspector will be required to join the vessel under item 1 and may disembark if weather conditions permit. The final decision will be made by the Mooring Master in charge at the time. ARC is concerned that these restrictions are complied with as the transfer of personnel, stores and equipment from tug boats to tankers in rough weather is very dangerous and all measures must be taken to avoid any accidents. Map Ta Phut - Crude oil vessels requested to measure H2S levels: With immediate effect, for all crew oil vessels calling at Map Ta Phut, vessel's agents are to ask the vessel to measure the H2S level in cargo compartments a minimum of 2 days prior to arrival and forward the result to the appointed distribution port inspector (in addition to the usual distribution lists). ..... 1. In the event that the H2S measurement for each particular type of crude is below 100ppm, the samples are to be delivered to ARC laboratory for further testing. 2. In the event that the H2S measurement for each particular type of crude exceeds 100ppm, the appointed surveyor is required to test for H2S using Draeger Tube method (vapour phase). 3. If the test reveals the H2S level>100ppm, then the appointed surveyor will continue to test the sample for density and BS & W. 4. If the test reveals that H2S level<100ppm, then the appointed surveyor will send the sample to ARC laboratory with the tested H2S result.
Health regulations
Quarantine officials will carry out inspection of vessels, sanitary checks, preventative inoculations for seamen and people going abroad.
Notices of readiness
On arrival in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Charter Party.
