The port is situated 20km west of Stockholm and serves the region of Lake Malaren. Cargo handled includes imported cars, containers, general cargo, fuel, chemicals and bio fuels.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Situated approx 30km SW of Stockholm on the Sodertalje Canal.

LOA 200m, max beam 32m, draught 9.0m, 70,000DWT.

Herrhamraleden anchorage (59°47.4'N 017°51.1'E), 3nm N of Landsort Lighthouse).

The channel which is well lighted and buoyed, is entered W of Landsort (58° 44'N 017°52'E) and passes E of Morko. There is a depth of 9.9m in the fairway to Sodertalje port and 7.9m in the fairway to Sodertalje Lock.

Pilotage, which is available throughout 24 hours, is compulsory as follows: ..... 1. In the above area for the following: a. All category 1 vessels b. Category 2 vessels of 70m length, 14m beam and 4.5m draught and over c. Category 3 vessels of 70m length, 14m beam and 4.5m draught and over. 2. In certain pilotage channels between Landsort and Nynashamn for the following: a. All category 1 vessels b. Category 2 vessels of 90m length, 16m beam and 5.5m draught and over c. Category 3 vessels of 100m length, 17m beam and 6.0m draught and over. Vessels should send request for pilots at least 12 hours in advance of arrival and confirm at least 5 hours in advance. Pilot boards 2nm S of Landsort Lighthouse (58°44'N 017°52'E) or near Nynashamn Approach Lightbuoy (58°45'N 018°11'E) for deep draught vessels. The pilots have one ice going cutter, speed 10kts and a fast cutter, speed 20kts. For pilots to Hasselby boarding position is in the Sodertalje Lock.
