The following is an extract from the Trades Tax Import Division "Notice to Shipping Companies". Foreign Vessels: Crew Effects Declaration: ..... 1. At the first port of arrival in the Seychelles, each crew member is allowed duty free 200 cigarettes (or equivalent in tobacco products) and one bottle of spirits not exceeding one litre. In lieu of the spirits, two bottles of wine or 24 cans of beer each not exceeding 375ml, are acceptable. Where Seychelles crew members work on a foreign vessel and are normally resident in Seychelles, they will be treated as if they are crewing on a Seychelles crewed vessel. Additional declared goods above these concessions are to be placed in a secure bond onboard and the bond is to be sealed by the Boarding Officer. 3. Vessels operating crew or passenger bars are to seek approval to have reasonable quantities remain unsealed for consumption onboard. In the case of passenger vessels the quantities remaining onboard should be sufficient for the duration of the stay of the vessel. 4. Further Tax Free releases may be approved if the vessel is in port for an extended period. The Boarding Officer may, upon written request, release the equivalent as detailed in (1) every 10 days, for each crew member. The seals on the bond may only be broken by the boarding officer and the bond is to be resealed after the issue is made. 5.
