Iligan (PHIGN)

The port consists of local authority base terminal and several private terminals. Main cargo handle including crude palm oil, vegetable oil, petroleum product, cement, clinker, salt, flour,bulk chemicals, copra pellet feedstock, Ro-Ro, Fast Ferry, containers and break bulk.

Iligan is located on the E shore of Iligan Bay, on the N coastline of Mindanao Island.

Harbour: LOA 229.02m, beam 32.26m, draught 11m, 82,624DWT. Off Shore: LOA 105.07m, 5,552DWT.

Approx 3,200,000t of cargo, 9,500TEU, 2,900,000 passengers and 18,000 vessels handled annually.

Anchorage at Iligan Bay and the vicinity is available almost anywhere at a distance of about 600-1,000m from the shoreline, which has a depth of about 80-120m. At a distance of about 0.5nm from the coastline, anchorage is difficult due to deep water that runs over 180m. ..... North of Baseport Anchorage 08°17.1'N 124°15.4'E. Iligan City Light is exhibited from a white metal tower, 10m in height, standing on the S pier at Iligan.

Berthing may not be possible during the monsoon season.

Tidal stream on the ebb sets N across the piers and is exceptionally strong when Iligan River is in flood.

Iligan Harbour Pilot's Association has 2 tugs for domestic and foreign vessels. Additional tugs are also available when necessary. It is important that the Master shipping agent notifies the Harbour Pilot at least 48 hours in advance to ensure the availability of tugs.
