Sunndalsora (NOSUN)

Sunndalsora is a small port with one cargo quay. The quay handles a variety of cargoes such as alumina, aluminium, pet coke and general cargo.

North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Sunndalsora is situated on the N Norwegian coast, approx 50km SE of Kristiandsund.

LOA 200m, draught 11m, beam 32.5m, 50,000DWT.

Anchorage is obtained off the cargo berth.

Sunndalsora is approached through Sunndalsfjorden. Vessels wishing to use the berth pass down the E side of the channel. The white sector of Flaoya Light bearing between 288.5°-317°, astern, leads ESE in Sunndalsfjorden, S of the quay at Oppdol and N of Svinberget, patches of 7.3m and 13.1m lie within this sector, approx 0.5nm ESE of Flaoya.

Radio: Any Norwegian Coastal Radio station can be used for passing messages at long range. All coastal radio stations are operated 24 hours a day throughout the year. Inmarsat communication available up to Lat 75°N. VHF: Port: Ch 16, 09. Pilots: Kristiansund Pilot Ch 13.

Customs: Allowance for crew and officers is that stated on the Personal Effects Declaration. Goods on the declaration are not to be taken ashore. Penalties for non compliance are severe fines. Immigration: Board at first port of call (cruise ships only). They require a Crew List and a Passenger List and will make random passport inspections. All passports should be available for a quick clearance which normally takes 15-20 minutes.

Arrival Notification, in the prescribed format, to the Navy should be made 24 hours before entering Norwegian territorial waters (baseline). See country information. Additional ETA's should be sent 12 and 6 hours prior to arrival to the vessel's agent.

There is no need to apply for pratique. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates (SSCC) can be renewed.

NOR to be tendered in accordance with Charter Party when vessel is ready to start loading/discharging. When berth is not available for loading/discharging NOR to be tendered when anchoring or according to Charter Party.
