Batsfjord (NOBJF)

The port handles general cargo, passengers, product tanker and vegetable oils.

Batsfjord is situated on the N coast of Norway, on the NW side of the head of the fjord, 1,165km N of Trondheim.

Draught 8.3m

Approx 83,500t of cargo handled annually.

Anchorage for small vessels, in depths of 18.3m to 23.8m, good holding ground, approx 0.1nm of the N entrance point of the cove. Care should be taken not to foul pipelines, which extend from the W shore of Ytre Havn.

Available and optional. May be ordered through SafeSeaNet, the Lodingen Pilot Booking Center at an additional cost. The pilot can be contacted on VHF Ch 12, in the following positions: 1. 70°38'30.0''N, 29°47'00.0''E (approx 2.0nm within the harbour entrance). 2. 70°39'26.4'''N, 29°48'51.6''E.

The harbour district is bounded by a line drawn from Skrovneset Light (70°39'N 029°47'E) to the mouth of Prestelva (143° x 1.5nm).

Major Light: Makkaur Light (low tower on white concrete building, Racon) (70° 42'N 030°05'E).

Radio: Any Norwegian Coastal Radio station can be used for passing messages at long range. All coastal radio stations are operated 24 hours a day throughout the year. Customs: Allowance for crew and officers is that stated on the Personal Effects Declaration. Goods on the declaration are not to be taken ashore. Penalties for non compliance are severe fines. Immigration: Board at first port of call (cruise ships only). They require a Crew List and a Passenger List and will make random passport inspections. All passports should be available for a quick clearance which normally takes 15-20 minutes.

Advise ETA 24 hours in advance, vessels must report to the Harbour Control at 3 hours prior to arrival, along with the following information: ..... 1. Vessel name 2. Name and call sign 3. Country and nationality 4. Vessel LOA, draught and gross tonnage

There is no need to apply for pratique. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates (SSCC) can be renewed.

NOR to be tendered in accordance with Charter Party when vessel is ready to start loading/discharging. When berth is not available for loading/discharging NOR to be tendered when anchoring or according to Charter Party.
