Alvik (NOAAV)

Alvik is a small port consisting of the Elkem Bjшlvefossen Ferro Silicate works served by two quays. Reportedly these facilities are to be converted to handle a process recycling waste from aluminium production.

Alvik is situated on the N side of Indre Samlafjorden, 75km E of Bergen.

LOA 200m, draught 10.0m, 40,000DWT.

Anchorage with good holding ground of clay, can be obtained by vessels of moderate size in the bay W of the quays. A submarine pipeline extends 100m SSE from the shore in the vicinity of the anchorage.

Arrival Notification, in the prescribed format, to the Navy should be made 24 hours before entering Norwegian territorial waters (baseline) also Hazmat notification if dangerous/noxious cargo onboard.
