Breskens (NLBRS)

Consists of a small marina and a ferry harbour from which a regular service with Vlissigen is maintained. Commercial activities no longer take place at the port due to the recent redevelopment plan. The basin, W of the marina, is being transformed into a recreational hot spot (Westhavendam, Middenhavendam and Kaai) with apartment buildings for recreational and permanent residents being built (460 apartments).

Winter North Atlantic Zone II (Winter: Nov 1-Mar 31) (Summer: Apr 1-Oct 31).

Lies on S side of the entrance to the Western Schelde, approx 2.5nm SSW of Vlissingen, Netherlands.

Max LOA 37.47m, beam 17.0m, draught 4.2m and 100DWT.

Anchorage is prohibited in the approach from NNE to Breskens.

The marina is entered between the two outer breakwaters, 99m wide and then via two floating pontoons 45m wide. The ferry harbour, located 0.75nm NW, is entered between two breakwaters 150m apart and has depths of 6.5m.

The marina entrance is liable to silting and dredging takes place in the spring and autumn, but prior to dredging depths may be up to 2.0m less than charted. The Harbour Master should be consulted for the latest information on depths.

The discharge of bilge water and sewage holding tank may be done at Jachthaven Bresken. Facilities are available along the Fuel Bunker Station.
