Sarikei (MYSAR)

Sarikei is a small port, under Rajang Port Authority and mainly used to export agricultural product. The port has one alongside berth and handles container and general cargoes.

Sarikei is situated on the Rajang River, 50km from the sea.

Max draught 7.6m, 3,000DWT.

Approx 6,800t of cargo and 15 vessels handled annually.

Anchorage for small vessels can be obtained in a depth of 4.0m on a bank 0.45nm NW of the mouth of Sungai Sarikei.

Singapore and Kuching Radio stations, which work throughout 24 hours, can be used for passing messages.

Customs: Each crew member is allowed 25 cigarettes and 1,135ml of alcoholic drink per day.

Initial ETA should be sent 4-5 days prior to arrival followed by daily updates. The message should include date and time of arrival, vessel's location and Master's requirements.
