Lundu (MYLUN)

Only small vessels handled at private wharf by loading and discharge of cargo to stockpile area.

Situated on the island of Borneo, Lundu is close to the Malaysia/Indonesia border. It is connected by road to Kuching which is approx 48km E.

Lundu entrance lies between Tanjong Banadang and Tanjong Sireh, situated, respectively 2nm SW and 1.5nm SSE of Lundu. The entrance is fronted by a bar with a least depth of 0.3m. A vessel entering the river should follow the line of the leading beacons on 214.5° until the front beacon is at a distance of 1.75nm when the course should then be altered to S, and the channel followed. The leading beacons are as follows: Front: White triangular topmark, 6m in height. Rear: Same topmark, 8m in height. They stand 1.75nm SW of Tanjong Sireh.

Singapore and Kuching Radio stations, which work throughout 24 hours, can be used for passing messages.

Customs: Each crew member is allowed 25 cigarettes and 1,135ml of alcoholic drink per day.

Initial ETA should be sent 4-5 days prior to arrival followed by daily updates. The message should include date and time of arrival, vessel's location and Master's requirements.
