Tongyeong (KRTYG)

A commercial and fishing port. There are also ship building and repair facilities. Kogas has a large LNG import berth, regasification plant and 16 storage tanks.

Tongyeong is located at the NW end of Tongyong Haeman, between Miruk To and the S part of Kosong Pando.

Max LOA 290m, draught 12.5m & beam 48.2m.

Outer anchorage: A quarantine anchorage has been established within a radius of 0.15nm centred 0.6nm SSE of Chinsong Mal (34°49.6'N 128°26.5'E). Large vessels anchor E of a line Joining Changso Light (34°50.3'N 128°26.1'E) with Kongjudo, 0.4nm SW, depth about 9.0m. Small vessels anchor W of the line in depth 6.0m, mud.

The main approach to the harbour is from the S through Tongyong Haeman, it is then entered N of Chinsong Mal. The W approach through Chungmu Unha is only suitable for vessels of less than 300t. Depths in the main part of the harbour range from 6.0-10.0m. There is a least charted depth of 2.1m in Chungmu Unha.

Pilotage is available for the passage through Tongyong Haeman and boards in position 34°45.2'N 128°26.8'E. Requests should be made through an agent or direct to the harbour administration office.

The limits of the port are defined to the W by a line drawn N/S close E of the W most bridge (34°49.9'N 128°24.4'E) spanning Chungmu Unha, and to the E by a line drawn NNE from Chinsong Mal (34°49.6'N 128°26.5'E) to a point on the mainland 1.3nm NNE.

Two bridges span Chungma Unha. Tongyong Bridge, the W bridge, has a vertical clearance of 18m, Chungmu Bridge to the E has a vertical clearance of 20m.
