Tsukumi (JPTMI)

The port is divided into two sections, northern and southern, and is protected from the NE by a curved outer and two inner breakwaters. The NW inner breakwater is detached. The main cargoes handled are limestone and cement products.

Tsukumi is located on the E coast of Kyushu, opposite the island of Shikoku.

LOA 199.99m, beam 32.26m, draught 12.4m, 64,247DWT.

Approx 23,000,000t of cargo and 11,000 vessels handled annually.

Anchorage is available for up to three vessels of 7,000GT in depths of up to 21.0m.

Not compulsory. Recommended unless Master has local knowledge and is dependent on local knowledge. Pilot boards vessel at the anchorage, position 33°06'N 131° 54'E.

The harbour limit extends NW from Chinuzaki Hana to the N shore of the bay.

Lights are exhibited on each side of the entrance located between the inner breakwaters.

There are no restrictions to night time berthing/sailing, but to avoid accidents they are subject to Master/pilot agreement.

There are 2 tugs of 3,000hp available.
