Misumi (Kumamoto) (JPMIS)

The port is well sheltered by islands which act as natural breakwaters.

Misumi is located on the eastern coastline of Kyushu Island in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Draught 10.0m, 15,000DWT.

Approx 350,000t of cargo and 5,000 vessels handled annually.

Good anchorage exists with depths of more than 9.0m over a bottom of mud and clay in the eastern sector of the port; in the western sector the bottom is gravel and rocks. North anchorage: 32°37.39'N 130°27.05'E South anchorage: 32°33.18'N 130°29.39'E.

Draught limitation in the channel is 11.0m, maximum draught on berths is 8.5m,
