Kasaoka is situated on the Inland Sea coast of the eastern peninsular of Honshu in Yamaguchi prefecture.

Max draught 9.5m, 35,000DWT.

Draught limitation in the channel is 16.0m. The channel leading to the port is under the provisions of Maritime Safety Law due to heavy traffic in the narrow channels and many islands.

Inland Sea pilot is compulsory for vessels exceeding 10,000GT. Inland Sea Pilots Association covers all Inland Sea ports, including Kasaoka. Pilot boards either at Wada-Misaki (34°38'N 135°11'E) or Sekisaki (33°13'N 131°54'E).

Daytime entry and sailing only when pilot required.
