Atsumi is a tanker discharge port serving the Chubu Electric Power Co's power station.

At entrance to Ise Bay, transit is via the Irago Suido and Nakayama East Suido; departure being via Nakayama West Suido.

Draught limit in channels: Nakayama Suido East Passage, 10.0m (one way traffic). Nakayama Suido West Passage, 9.0m (up to 10m with high tide).

Compulsory. For the vessels coming from east, pilot boards within 1.5nm radius from position 34°30.8'N 137°06.9'E. For the vessels coming from S and W, pilot boards within 1.5nm radius of position 34°28.3'N 137°03.8'E.

No possibility of passage through Nakayama Suido East Passage after sunset. However, vessels under 10.0m draught can enter the port from Nakayama Suido West Passage (Noshimo route).

The power station does not have any Customs or Immigration facilities so inbound foreign flag vessels must call at a nearby 'open' port to complete inward clearance documentation before berthing at Atsumi.
