Muldwarka (INMDK)

Muldwarka is a private port used mainly for coal, clinker and gypsum unloading and cement loading for Ambuja Cements.

Arabian Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Sep 1 to May 31, Summer Jun 1 to Aug 31.

Muldwarka is situated on the S coast of Saurashtra on the W coast of India.

LOA 200m, beam 32m, draught 9.5m, 38,000DWT. Max airdraught 10.5m (specialised cement carriers) 8.5m (conventional vessels).

Anchorage with good holding ground can be found 2-3nm SSW of the breakwater.

The approach channel is dredged to 12.0m.

Compulsory provided by Ambuja Cement Co Ltd. Services of local pilots are available on request via local agents. ETA should be sent 72, 48, 24 and 12 hours prior to arrival. Pilot boards 1nm SSW of breakwater.

Two tugs available which join vessel off breakwater. Vessels are to use their own lines.

Immigration authorities located in Junagadh, 140km. Customs office in port. All liquor will be sealed in bond by customs on arrival, no consumption of alcohol permitted while vessel alongside.

ETA should be sent 72 hours in advance to port captain.

Stevedores: Minimum 48 hours notice is required for arranging stevedoring labour and gangs for handling cargo and ship gear.

All crew members to have valid certificates for vaccination/inoculation etc. Free pratique is granted by the port authority.
