Kasaragod (INKSG)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The recently developed port flanked by the Western Ghats supports the local fishing industry and exports the livelihood products of tobacco, coconut, arecanut, tapioca, ginger, banana, coir and rubber.

Kasaragod on the Lakshadweep Sea coast, Arabian Sea is situated N most of the Kerala district, 50km from Mangalore, its town on the mouth of the Chandragiri river, SW India.

Vessels are permitted under the Special Permit System to anchor within port limits.

SW monsoon season end May-Sep. NE monsoon season Oct-Dec. Jan-Feb are the coolest months, Mar-May the hottest. The district has an average rainfall of 3,500mm.
