The port has restricted facilities; vessels own gear must be used for unloading. The port handles breakbulk and RoRo cargo.

Miragoane is located on the W coast of Haiti.

LOA 81.72m, beam 14.51m, 3,077DWT.

Anchorage is available as convenient in the bay, depths 14.0-18.0m, or in the inner harbour with depths of 11.0-13.0m, but space is confined.

Depths are as follows: ..... Near Outer Fairway Lightbuoy Approx 15m Least depth in fairway 13.7m In the final approach to the pier 11.6m From a position near the Outer Fairway Lightbuoy (starboard hand) the alignment (233°) of beacons in the town, leads into the harbour. Then follow the channels through the inner harbour, which are marked by leading marks and buoys.

Pilotage is compulsory. Pilot boarding place is at the entrance, near the Outer Fairway Lightbuoy; a vessel may wait at anchor in that vicinity.

There is a light on a loading chute on the pier.
