Porec (HRPOR)

The small harbour with a marina lies SSW of the town. The port is used by local ferries and cruise vessels.

Porec is located on the W coast of Croatia, in the Gulf of Venice.

Outer anchorage: Vessels too large to enter Luka Porec may obtain anchorage W or NW of Hrid Barbaran in 22-24m, mud, good holding ground. Prohibited anchorage: Anchorage is prohibited in the centre of the harbour and it's entrances.

The safest entrance to the harbour, approx 0.1nm wide lies between Hrid Barbaran and the head of the breakwater. At night the white sector (062°-153°) of Hrid Barbaran Light affords safe navigation to this entrance.

Pilots should be requested 24 hours in advance. Pilot boards in position 45° 14'N 013°35'E.

The harbour is sheltered from NW winds and is partially sheltered from SW winds. S and NW winds raise heavy seas in the harbour.
