Stylis (GRSYS)

Stylis is the port for Lamia, 8nm W, with facilities for general cargo handling along it's northern shore. The bay itself offers a safe long term anchorage.

Stylis is situated at the head of Vorios Evoikos Bay in eastern Greece.

LOA 113m, beam 18m, draught 6.3m, 6,500DWT.

Outer anchorage: A vessel unable to enter the harbour can anchor SE of the approach channel in a depth of 14.0m with Limin Stilildhos Light bearing 315° x 1.5nm. Anchorage area available for laid up vessels, minor repairs, provisions and crew change.

The harbour is approached by a dredged channel approx 45m in width and 0.75nm in length. The approach channel has a least depth of 4.6m and the harbour has a general depth of 5.0m, both are subject to silting. Directions: From the vicinity of 38°53.5'N 022°38.2'E the line of bearing 315° of Limin Stilidhos Light leads NW to the approach channel passing (with positions given from the light): Between a pair of lightbuoys (1nm SE) marking the seaward end of the channel. Then the channel continues NW, passing: Between a pair of light beacons (0.55nm SE) marking the sides of the fairway between Nisis Kaloyiros, a low islet, and the coast; then: NE of charted obstructions (0.3nm SSE) lying in shallow water which extends NW from Nisis Kaloyiros.

Olympia Radio ("SVA") receives distress or urgent messages and public communication (working channel). Watch frequencies VHF/FM, 2182kHz and HF/D.S.C as follows: MF 2187.5kHz. HF 4207.5kHz, 6312kHz, 8414.5kHz, 12577kHz, 16804.5kHz. Heraklio, Limnos and Corfu Radio for general watch calling frequencies. The stations work throughout 24 hours. Customs allowances: Each officer and crew member is allowed 1 bottle of spirits and 1 carton of cigarettes each. Immigration: Immigration authorities issue crew passes. For EU nationals there are no Immigration procedures. There are special regulations for nationals of countries such as Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia and South American countries. Crew being repatriated to non European countries must have a ticket which the agent must show to the authorities, agent's guarantees are requested by various authorities.

Master's Declaration that all electrical items, not sealed, and other goods will remain onboard. 4. Master's Declaration for bunkers and cargo onboard. Special forms exist for all documents but apply only to liner vessels. These are delivered onboard on arrival.

Initial ETA to be sent to vessel's agent on departure from last port. Additional ETA's to be sent 48, 24 and 12 hours prior to arrival to the vessel's agent. One hour prior to arrival, port authorities, pilot and agents should be contacted by VHF giving exact time of arrival. The ETA message should include: Ship's particulars, cargo information, dangerous cargo (if any onboard, with details), health condition and stowaway details (if any).

Pratique should be applied for on arrival and cannot be applied for by radio.

Can be tendered anytime but will only be accepted between 0800-1700hrs.
