Cogo (previously known as Puerto Iradier) is situated on the N bank of the River Muni, 11km from the mouth.

Vessels anchor in the river. Loading wood vessels can anchor close ENE of Pointe M'bini (01°01.0'N 009° 36.6'E) in a depth of approx 10.0m.

The port is approached through the N part of Bahia Corinsco and via Rio Muni which is entered between Punta Yeke (01°01.6'N 009°35.4'E) and Pointe Coco Beach, 1.5nm S. The least charted depth in the channel is 6.2m.
