Lochinver (GBLOV)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. A major port for white fish landings and a base for international fishing vessels. Main Market Quay: The deepest berth which can accommodate vessels of up to 90m in length with draughts of 6.0m. Finger Pier: Extends 130m NNW from the coast midway between the breakwater and Culag Pier, 2.25nm E, provides berths on both sides. There is another pier with berths on both sides and a quay with a length of 200m.

Lochinver port is located on the W coast of Scotland, N of Ullapool.

LOA 90m, beam 17m, draught 8.0m. Vessels of up to 11.5m can enter the port at MHWS.

There are several anchorage areas suitable for small craft within Lochinver. It should, however be noted that winds from the W leave the anchorage area exposed.

Lochinver can be approached from between the SW and NW and entered through Loch Inver. The main entrance to Loch Inver is between Kirkaig Point and Soyea Island, passing S of A' Chleit, as the route NE of Soyea Island is restricted to vessels with a draught of less than 5.0m.

The seaward limit of the harbour extends from the W point on the E side of the Loch Bad nam Ban, through the W extremity of Sgeir Bhuidhe to Rubha nam Fad.

Mean spring range 4.2m, mean neap range 1.8m.
