Conwy (GBCWA)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The harbour, no longer used for commercial purposes, is used mainly by pleasure craft and fishing vessels. The river and tidal berths have a max depth of 15.0m.

Conwy lies on the W bank of the River Conwy within 1nm of the entrance.

Max LOA 30m, beam 8.0m, draught 4.0m, 200DWT.

Prohibited anchorage lies 50m either side of a road tunnel under the River Conwy.

Entry is possible 2 hours before to 2 hours after HW. When Conwy Sands, to the N, are covered, there is sufficient depth for a vessel of 2.0m draught. Approaches: From the Fairway Buoy the channel into Conwy runs in a generally ENE'ly direction and is marked by buoys and a perch. Navigation: The channel is entered between Buoys C2 and C1 and the marked channel is followed, then after Buoy C5, leave the Perch Light 30m to starboard. Shortly afterwards, round Buoy C7 to starboard and follow a SSE'ly track to the entrance to Conwy Harbour. There is an unlit Port Hand Mark in the narrows. The marina entrance lies to starboard and displays red/green entry lights. There is an inshore passage close SW of Great Ormes Head, but this is advised only with local knowledge. Caution: Beware of unlit moorings.
