Bangor (GBBNG)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The port comprises a small commercial harbour used by fishing, coastal and naval vessels, with a 550 berth marina.

Bangor is located on the S shore of Belfast Lough on the E coast of Northern Ireland, approx 12nm E of Belfast.

Approx LOA 60m, draught 4.0m.

Small vessels can anchor 0.2nm NNE of the head of N Pier in a depth of 10.0m, mud.

Approaching from E Luke's Point is foul and should be given a wide berth of at least 0.1nm. The flagstaffs on this point are not reliable for fixing a vessel's position. The white sector (104.8°-105.2°) of a direction light standing on North Breakwater, approx 100m NW of the root, indicates the centre line of the harbour entrance approach.

Saint Comgall's Church spire (54°39.6'N 005°40'W). A light (concrete column, 11m in height, range 14M) standing at the head of North Breakwater. A tower (grey turret on a red brick building) situated in trees N of the town, on Wilson's Point (0.27nm WNW of N pierhead).

Range 3.5m (springs), 2.2m (neaps).

There are no tugs. However a 28hp launch is available.
