General notices & regulations
The Harbour Master/Port Office must be contacted immediately in the event of all incidents including: Damage, oil spills, fire (emergency services to be called in addition), security breaches and injuries. Special bye laws are in force for vessels carrying petroleum products and 24 hours pre-arrival notice is required. In the event of an incident in the port the following information will need to be provided: ..... 1. Vessel Name 2. Location at the port (Berth No.) It is important that all vessel masters must ensure that all accommodation ladders/gangways are secured and safety nets are rigged at all times. ABP will ensure that the following are secured and rigged correctly. A waste management plan is in place for waste (from within the European Union) and must only be deposited in the garbage bins provided. All garbage from outside of the European Union must be collected separately by an authorised garbage contractor via agent or port authority. All other garbage may be disposed of by arrangement via agent or port authority. Under the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Port Waste Reception Facilities) Regulations 2003 vessels are to notify their next port of call, 24hr notice, of the types and amount of waste they will be discharging. It is prohibited to leave any waste in the port or on the quays. Outlets for overboard discharges are to remain closed whilst the vessel is alongside and are not to be damaged in any way. If they are to be deemed damaged or a failure to comply the vessel will be held responsible. The deck is not to be washed until it is swept and the remains have been removed from the vessel. The discharging of dirty ballast or any hold washing over the side must be granted by the Harbour Master.
Health regulations
Standard UK health regulations apply. Ship Sanitation Control can be carried out.
