Bonifacio (FRBON)

The small port is used mainly by ferries, pleasure craft and fishing boats. Some island traffic includes the ferry services which are provided with Ro-Ro facilities.

Summer.

Bonifacio is situated on the S shore of Corsica.

Anchorage is prohibited in an area within Calanque de la Catena, on the N side of the port.

Port de Bonifacio is approached from SSW and entered between Pointe de la Madonella (41°23.3'N 009°08.7'E) and Pointe du Timon, 0.25nm SE.

Pilotage, provided by Ajaccio, is compulsory for vessels over LOA 75m and is available throughout 24 hours. Pilot boards 0.5nm S of Pointe de la Madonetta Light (41°23.22'N 009°08.66'E). The Compulsory Pilotage Area limits are bounded by the following: W Limit: the meridian passing through Cap de Feno (41°23.5'N 009°05.8'E). S Limit: the parallel passing through Cap Pertusato (41°22.0'N 009°10.8'E).

Night movements for berthing and unberthing possible on request.

Range 0.3m.

Tugs may be requested via the pilot station giving 24 hours notice.

Prevailing winds: Variable. Entering and berthing can be difficult in strong SW winds.

Notify ETA upon departure from last port of call, then every 24 hours before arrival with confirmation to vessel's agent 12 hours prior to arrival. ETA for pilot should be sent via email or fax at least 24 hours in advance, stating LOA, beam and draught.

Flags to be displayed: During bunkering "B" flag and on arrival "Q" flag.

Request for pratique to be made to the harbour control prior to arrival. Renewal of Ship Sanitation Control Certificate and Exemption Certificates, possible with prior notice to agent.

NOR should be tendered in accordance with the Charter Party.

Confirmation of arrival. Eventual gas free confirmation in case of OBO vessels.
