Arcachon (FRARC)

Arcachon is an artificial fishing port with a large marina situated at the E end of the town. The port is closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen.

North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Arcachon is situated on the W coast of France in the Bay of Biscay, approx 48km WSW of Bordeaux.

Anchorage is available in Rade d'Eyrac in depths of 15.0-20.0m, bottom muddy sand good holding.

Local knowledge is required for the approach and entrance to the minor harbours on the NE and S shores of Bassin d'Arcachon.

Customs allowances: For each crew member 200 cigarettes and 1 bottle of spirit. Heavy fines will be incurred for non compliance with these allowances. Visa are required for non EU citizens, who wish to join or leave the vessel. All passengers to be declared, separate from crew.
