Torrevieja (ESTOR)

The port is a seaside city and located on Costa Vlanca in the province of Alicante and protected by breakwaters. Main activity in Torrevieja port is salt-mining. There are also a fishing port and yacht marinas within the harbour.

Torrevieja is situated approx 54nm SW of Alicante on the Costa Blanca.

LOA 220m, draught 9.0m, beam 29m.

Anchorage may be obtained under shelter of Dique de Levante in depths not exceeding 11.0m, and 1nm off the breakwater in sand, good holding.

The harbour is protected from the E by Dique de Levante (outer breakwater) extending 1,370m SW from the low rocky Punta de la Cornuda (Punta del Castillo). The SW side of the harbour is formed by Dique de Poniente (W breakwater) extending SE from the shore SW of the town to form the entrance facing W, width of 240m, depth in the entrance 11m.

Pilots is compulsory. The pilot boards in position 37°57.2'N 000°41.1'W, within 1nm of Dique de Levante Light. The pilot boat is 10m long, painted white with the letter "P" on both sides.

The port limits are defined as an area of inner water up to 1nm from the head of Dique de Levante.

A light at the head of Dique de Levante, is exhibited from an octagonal concrete tower 10m in height. A light at the head of Dique de Poniente is exhibited from a white octagonal tower 6.0m in height.
