Mostaganem (DZMOS)

The port, also known as Mestghanem, is a small general cargo port handles mainly general cargo, bulk, Ro-Ro, asphalt, tanker and containers.

Mostaganem is located in the north of Algeria at 365km West of Algiers the capital of the country.

Pilotage is compulsory in an area bounded on the W by the meridian of Pointe de la Salamandre and on the N by the parallel of Pointe de Karouba. Pilotage is available throughout 24 hours, the pilot boat is black with a white stripe.

A light is exhibited and a radio beacon transmits from a white tower, with a red top, 10m in height, standing at the head of Jetee du Large. A light is exhibited from a white column with a green top, 7m in height, standing at the head of Mole Sud-Ouest.

One tug is available, second tug is available by contacting Arzew Port Control.

Prevailing winds: Variable. W'ly to NW'ly from Oct to Apr and E'ly from May to Sep. Daily E'ly wind most of the time from noon to sunset.
