Bandholm (DKBDX)

Cargo handled at the port includes: barley, wheat, rye, rape seed, peas, logs, construction materials, road materials, fertilisers, coal, coke, salt, wood pellets, fishmeal and soya bean meal. Occasional ice breaker assistance may be required.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Bandholm is located on the N coast of Lolland, in the Fehmarnbelt.

LOA 128m, beam 15m, draught 5.3m.

Anchorage is located E of Lindholm Island, 3nm from the harbour in depths of 10-13m.

The Fairway Buoy, Staaldyb Light and Bell Buoy is moored 3nm W of the Island Vejro. From this buoy, a channel leads SE for approx 12nm to the inner anchorage, E of Lindholm Island. Then a channel, approx 3nm in length and controlling depth of 5.5m, leads to the harbour. Leading lights, lateral buoys and pairs of channel marks mark the channel at short intervals. The harbour has a turning basin of 120m.

Pilotage is optional but recommended. The pilot meets vessels at 54°56.2'N 011° 21.7'E, off Kragenaes. Pilots should be requested via agents as early as possible and at least 4 hours prior to arrival. Tel: +45 53 88 80 11, or Danpilot, Tel: +45 62 50 15 35.

Lights are exhibited at an elevation of 4m, from black posts, 3m in height, one on either side of the harbour entrance, at each molehead.

Turning basin: Draught 5.8m, length approx 120m. Vessels must proceed at a moderate speed in the dredged channel.

Range 0.4m.Storms from NW can raise water level by up to 1.0m; storms from SW can lower it by the same amount.

Prevailing winds: W'ly.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

Should be sent to Agents Hovmand as early as possible and at least 20 hours prior to arrival. Pilots, if required, should be advised 12 hours and no later than 4 hours prior to arrival.

Regulations for narrow channels in Danish waters are in force, with the following exception: Outbound vessels must await the arrival of an inbound vessel before entering the dredged channel from Lindholm Dyb.

The Declaration of Health is to be submitted on arrival.
