The port of Wesel is part of DeltaPort group which is the association of the Rhein-Lippe Port and the City Port, located within the municipal area of the City of Wesel, plus the Port of Emmelsum, located within the municipal area of the City of Voerde. By consolidating these three port areas under one umbrella, a unique form of provision of space and services on the Lower Rhine for port-related commercial and industrial enterprises has emerged. DeltaPort has excellent infrastructural links to numerous cargo handling options for loose bulk, break bulk, liquid and heavy cargo, as well as containers, with a marketing area that includes over 60 million people. The majority of vessels using the ports are commercial barges.
