Schleswig (DESLS)

The port has a single harbour, handling mainly coal and grains.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Schleswig is situated at the W end of the long narrow estuary of the River Schlei, about 35km inland from the Baltic coast of Schleswig Holstein.

Draught 3.9m.

From close NE of Haddeby No 138 Buoy (port hand), the track leads NW for approx 0.5nm through a channel, min depth 3.3m, marked by buoys (lateral) to the E end of the wharf. A separate channel, depth 2.7m, marked by buoys (lateral), leads WNW from close NNE of No 124 Buoy (port hand) to the sugar factory wharf.
