Eckernfoerde (DEECK)

The main outer harbour is used by small commercial vessels, fishing vessels and local passenger craft. The inner harbour is used mainly by pleasure craft.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Eckernforde is situated on the SW of Eckernforde Bight.

Outer Harbour max 5.0m draught, Inner Harbour max 3.0m draught.

Good anchorage in the roads, between E to SE by W bearing from the port, distance 1.0 to 1.5nm. Depths 18.0-20.0m. Anchorage in the harbour is prohibited.

From a position about 7nm E of Boknis Eck (54°33.0'N 010°02.0'E), the track leads WSW for about 14nm in the white sector (242°-244.5°) of Eckernforde Directional Light. From a position about 0.3nm S of Der Ort SE Mole Light the track leads 0.9nm NW in the white sector (293°-315°) of Eckernforde Harbour Entrance Light. An alternative track leads 310° on Borby Church (54°28.7'N 009°50.4'E). From a position about 0.1nm from the light the track leads N and NW to pass round the fore basin close S of the harbour entrance, passing SW of a 3.8m shoal, marked by No 1 Buoy (starboard hand), moored close S of the extremity of the coastal bank.

Eckernforde Directional Light (54°28.0'N 009°51.0'E), is exhibited at an elevation of 36m from a grey tower with two red platforms 27m in height, standing near the shore at the head of the bay. SE Mole Light (grey mast) (54°28.2'N 009°51.8'E). Eckernforde Harbour Entrance Light (red tower, white band, concrete base, height 10m) (54°28.7'N 009°50.6'E), standing near the root of the mole protecting the fore harbour.

Outer and inner harbours separated by a bascule bridge which opens to 11.5m width. When the bridge is open the width at the upper end of the bascules (in a height of CD + 9.8m) is 8.5m.

Nil. In E winds water level can increase up to 1.5m above normal.
