Tongling (CNTOL)

The port is bounded by Meigeng up river and Digang down river with an overall length of approx 60km and a water area of 470,000mІ. The port has 4 harbour areas, Datong, Henggang, Shaobagou and Chengguan. The main cargoes handled in the port are containers, bulk and breakbulk cargoes including coal, petroleum, metallic ore, ore materials, sand, cement and phosphorus ore.

The port of Tongling is located on the right bank of the lower reaches of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River in Anhui Province.

LOA 135m, beam 21m, draught 12.3m, 14,503DWT.

Approx 104,000,000t of cargo and 40,000TEU handled annually.

There are 2 anchorages in the port, Fangganghe and Shaobagou.

The port has E and W fairways, the latter is the main channel with a width of 100m during the dry season. The two fairways join together at Yangshanji and form a channel which is 1,200m wide on average, with a depth of 4.5m CD, giving a maximum draught limitation of 7.0m.

Pilotage is compulsory, usually daytime only. It is possible to arrange entry or sailing after sunset.

The average level is 4.82m.The highest water level over the years is 14.21m and the lowest is 0.68m.

There are 2 tugs available, 1 x 500 and 1 x 428hp.

Prevailing wind: NE'ly, and SW'ly in the summer. The annual average wind velocity is 6.9kts and the max is 46kts. Rainfall: The average rainfall is 1,355mm annually. Max rainfall 1,759mm. Mist: Fog occurs on average 10 days annually. Temperature: The average annual temperature is 16°C.
