Qinglan (CNQLN)

It is the only sheltered port between Yulin port and Zhanjiang port and is a good typhoon harbour for vessels able to cross the entrance bar. The port handles dry bulk, breakbulk and liquid facilities.

A confined anchorage is available for small vessels in mid channel 0.35nm NW of a fort that stands on the E entrance to the harbour. Prohibited anchorage: An area 1.1nm wide in which anchoring and fishing is prohibited extends from the shore close W of the entrance in a SE direction for 3.5nm and then SW parallel to the coast. A further corridor 0.15nm wide extends across the estuary within the harbour close SE of the town of Qinglan.

Draught limitation in the channel is 3.89m. The outer entrance buoy is fitted with a radar reflector. Leading marks, aligned 345.25°, lead across the bar and further buoys mark the channel. The port should not be entered without local knowledge. A vessel with a draught of 3.4m has entered at half tide when the banks on either side were visible.
