Penglai Pt (CNPLI)

The port handles mainly timber, coal, crude oil, iron ore, cement, sand, steel and liquid cargo.

Penglai lies on the northwest corner of the Shandong Peninsula on the southern coast of Gulf of Bohai.

LOA 235m, beam 63m, draught 14.5m, 99,991DWT.

Approx 24,000,000t of cargo handled annually.

Vessels with local knowledge can anchor in depths of 5.5m to 11m off the camber on the E side of Penglai Tou, but N winds create a heavy breaking sea which renders the anchorage unsafe. Luanjiakou: Anchorage in position 37°51'N 120°31'E, depth 13.0m, mud bottom, max 50,000DWT.

Pilot is compulsory for all foreign vessels entering and leaving the port. Available during the daytime only. Pilot boarding area: ..... The port has quarantine facilities. Masters should call Port Control on VHF Ch 13 when approaching the quarantine anchorages, which are located at the following coordinates: .....
