βœ“ ISPSβœ“ ECA
The port is divided into 8 areas along the river, which are Rugao, Tiansheng, Tongzhou, Rengang, Langshan, Fumingang, Jianghai and Tonghai. With over 100 berths the port is rapidly becoming a major ship repair port and is expanding into ship building. Two coastal port areas are being developed at Yangkou and Lusi to handle inbound and outbound sea trade, see separate entries. The port is also an important transhipment centre with a variety of cargo and craft handled including most types of river steamers and passenger craft. Principal cargoes handled are general, liquid and break bulk cargo.
