Ningde (CNNDE)

The City of Ningde has several port areas on the coast of the South China Sea, including Saiqi, Baima, Xiabaishi and Sanduao New Port. Saiqi: The water area of the port is bounded by Saijiang Sugar Refinery wharf which is located at the lower reaches of the confluence of the three rivulets and Baimajiao in Baimamen with a length of 30km. It has a natural shoreline of 60km and a water area of 55,080,000mІ. The port land area consists of Saiqi operation area and Xiabaishi operation area with an area of 27,400mІ. The former is bounded by Shangqitou and Saiqi passenger wharf and the latter is bounded by Saixia Xiaogang and Qihoubi.

Summer.

Ningde is to the N of Fujian. The port of Saiqi is located on the E bank of Sai River and at the lower reaches of the confluence of Muyang rivulet, Yangtou rivulet and Qianyang rivulet. The Xiabaishi operation area is situated at the lower reaches of the port at a distance of 10.5nm.

LOA 253.3m, beam 44.2m, draught 13.3m, 99,448DWT.

Approx. 68,000,000t of cargo and 170,000TEU handled annually.

There are 2 anchorages in the port. One anchorage is located in Xiabaishi area, which can accept 5 vessels of 500DWT. The other is located in Saiqi area, which can accept 4 vessels of 500DWT.

The channel leading to the port extends from Baimamen to Saiqi with a length of 32km and a depth of 1.5m. Seagoing ships up to 500DWT can pass through when the height of the tide is suitable. Baima: The navigation channel has a depth of 12.0m.

Baima: Vessels can only berth in daylight hours.

Pilotage only available during daylight hours.

The navigation mark consists of Xiayangqiang Light stake, located position 26° 44.57'N 119°43.59'E. F1 W 4s 4M.

The port is subject to regular semi-diurnal tide. The average peak level is 5.43m and the average lowest is 0.13m. The average tidal range is 5.3m. The flow is reciprocal (in Xiabaishi area). It flows NNW'ly with a max velocity of 1.5kts. It ebbs SSE'ly with a max velocity of 1.5 to 2.5kts.

Only private tugs available.

Prevailing wind: SSE'ly, between Feb and Aug. The strong wind is SW'ly. Wind of force 8 or more occurs for 8 days annually. Mist: Fog occurs on average for 10 days each year, mainly between winter and spring. Temperature: The average temperature over the years is 19°C, the hottest month is July, average temperature 29°C. The coldest month is January, with an average temperature of 10°C.
