Haian (Guangdong Province) (CNHAI)

The port is a transhipment port. Its operational areas are situated on the banks of the old Tongyang Canal, S bank of new Tongyang Canal and E bank of Ruhaihe River with a natural shoreline of 11.7km. It has a water area of 88,500mІ and a land area of 158,200mІ. The Yongan harbour area is situated in the W section of the port. The main cargoes handled in the port are coal, iron and steel, ore materials, cement, timber, non-metallic ore, chemical fertiliser, agricultural chemicals, salt and grain.

Haian is located in Haian County in Jiangsu Province, in the juncture of Nantong, Yangzhou and Yancheng with Dongtai city to the N and the Yellow Sea to the E.

The highest water level of the Tongyang Canal (upper river) is 4.76m, the lowest is 0.59m and the average is 2.11m. The highest water level of Chuanchang River (lower river) is 3.49m, the lowest is 0.43m and the average is 1.39m.
