Binhai (CNBHX)

The port of Binhai will handle the transportation of coal for Binhai Power Plant of the Huadong Power Network and the movement of other cargoes for industrial and agricultural production of the nearby area. The main import cargoes to be handled are coal, petroleum, ore materials and agricultural production materials. The main export cargoes are salt, grain and general cargo.

The port of Binhai is located on the lower reaches of the Subei Irrigation Canal and Zhongshan River. There are waterways joining the Sheyang River which extends to the Yellow Sea.

Draught 12.1m, 100,000DWT.

Approx 8,000,000t of cargo handled annually.

The man-made channels in the harbour area are 1.6m in depth.

The highest water level of the main channel, Zhangjia river, is 3.2m. The lowest is 0.4m and the average is 1.2m.

Prevailing winds: SE'ly in the summer and N'ly in the winter. The average wind velocity is 7.5kts and the max is 40kts. Rainfall: Average annual rainfall is 1,052mm. Rainfall mostly occurs between Jun and Sep and accounts for over 70% of the annual rainfall. Snowfall: Average annual snowfall is 6 days. Mist: Fog occurs on average for 21 days annually. Temperature: Average annual temperature is 14°C. The highest is 36°C and the lowest is -17°C. Ice: Ice occurs annually on average for 11 days. The navigation of ships and the operation of the port is not affected.
